Helpful Tips:

Ports of Call

When booking tours, please be mindful of port arrival and departure times. DO NOT book an excursion that may overlap with either time; leave at least an hour leeway. Be aware: San Juan and Philipsburg are one hour ahead of Miami and Labadee time (EST).

San Juan, Puerto Rico:

The Liberty of the Seas docks at Old San Juan, the oldest city on American soil, where it would be easy to spend all day exploring the unique cobblestone streets, beautiful and vibrant plazas, and centuries-old fortresses. About the size of fifteen city blocks, everything is within walking distance of the pier but taxies and a free trolley are available for those wishing to rest their feet. A short taxi ride away, old meets new in the bustling metropolis of San Juan, offering a variety of shops, restaurants, and sites for any eager traveler. You might want to take the ferry to the Bacardi Rum Factory or, for those looking further off the beaten path, there is the beautiful El Yunque rainforest. While you can take a taxi to the beach, San Juan is better for exploring and site-seeing rather than beach-lounging - but there will be plenty of time for that in Philipsburg and Labadee!

Helpful Tips:

Philipsburg, St. Maarten:

The island of Sint Maarten-Saint Martin is the smallest land mass in the world to be shared by two different nations. Only 37 square miles in total, 21 are owned by France and 16 by the Netherlands Antilles. Named by Columbus for the Saint's day on which he saw it, the island boasts nearly 80 nationalities, allowing for a great variety of dining options. While the island is small, your options are endless. Sail the Caribbean's largest lagoon (Simpson Bay Lagoon), shop the duty-free stores for great deals, relax on the beautiful and popular Orient Beach, take a short drive to explore the charming French-side town Marigot, or take a hike up rocky trails for great views of Philipsburg and neighboring islands. Be sure to try some guavaberry liquor, a St. Maarten original!

Helpful Tips:

Labadee, Haiti:

On a secluded peninsula of Haiti, Labadee is ideal for island-style relaxation. Grab a chair and lounge around on one of four private beaches, enjoy the floating Aqua Park, or take an exciting flight on the longest over-water zip-line in the world. There is also plenty of haggling to be had at the local market, and when it is time for lunch, Royal Caribbean serves up a free beachside barbeque.
